Parchment mobile bar Osvaldo Borsani circa 1940
Large illuminated storage cabinet, designed by Osvaldo Borsani and produced by ABV Arredamenti Borsani Varedo around 1940.
The wooden load-bearing structure is entirely covered in parchment, which gives the surface an organic texture.
The upper body features sinuous lines and softly curved corners, interrupted in the center by a lock with a burnished brass key. The cabinet is supported by two imposing vertical pillar-like supports, worked with a deep geometric fluting, resting on a solid base also rounded at the sides.
The interiors, originally designed to house an illuminated bar compartment, are finished with precious materials that include noble wood essences, crystal shelves and mirrored glass coverings, designed to amplify and reflect the internal light.
